Activities

ISP students are invited to a series of program activities. These include the orientation, campus and city tours, welcoming and farewell receptions, and various workshops about Hong Kong and Chinese culture. You will be given opportunities to mingle with other ISP students and HKUST students.

Orientation

A series of orientation activities are organized to get you familiarized with HKUST. It includes orientation session, welcome lunch, campus tours and tour to IKEA.

Hong Kong Day Tour

Hong Kong is a glamorous city with rich culture and customs. In the tour, you will visit Chi Lin Nunnery & Nan Lian Garden, Hong Kong Island, and the Peak.

Welcome Dinner

Get to know other students from all over the world and have a fun night!

Daily Cantonese Workshop

Our staff and exchange buddies will teach you some basic, but practical Cantonese over dinner, and introduce to you the tradition of Cantonese “Yum Cha” culture.

Ceramic Painting Workshop

Students would learn about the canton on-glaze painting and demonstrate the skills on porcelain teacups with your own creativity.

Tea Tasting Workshop

Students would learn about how to brew tea in a Chinese way, and get to taste different kinds of tea.

Dim Sum Workshop

Students would learn about how to make traditional Chinese dim sum – “Siu Mai” and  Chinese Dumplings.

Wing Chun Martial Art Workshop

Students would learn about Wing Chun, a Chinese martial art that originates from China, and refined later in Hong Kong.

Egg Tart & Pineapple Bun Cooking Workshop

Students would learn to make Egg Tart and Pineapple Bun, which is the most common and popular snacks in Hong Kong!

Hong Kong-style Milk Tea Workshop

Hong Kong Style Milktea was originated from the afternoon tea culture from the British but we further modified it to our owns style. Students would learn how to make a smooth HK milk tea.

Get a ride on Ngong Ping 360, and explore Tai-O, the oldest fishing village in Hong Kong.
