University accommodation is compulsory for ISP students. There are nine student halls on campus, and you will be assigned to a room in one of these halls with double occupancy. You can find information about the student halls here.


Residential period for ISP 2020: 18 June to 15 August 2020 (both nights inclusive)


Rooms and facilities

Most undergraduate halls are designed for double or triple occupancy. Facilities in each room include the following:

  • Air conditioning
  • Desk, chair, bookshelf
  • Bed and wardrobe
  • Mini refrigerator

Common shared facilities include

  • Showers and toilets
  • Television
  • Pantry with microwave
  • Telephones
  • Washing machines and dryers


Internet connection via the HKUST network can be done with a LAN cable or through a wifi connection.


Operation of the in-room air conditioning and shared washing machines and dryers is with your HKUST Student Card. After you complete registration procedures at HKUST and obtain your Student Card, you can charge the card up at any of the add value machines located on campus.


Note that personal items, such as bedding, are not provided. You may wish to bring these with you to Hong Kong or to purchase them on arrival.
